To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its iconic Miura SV (Super Veloce), revealed back in 1966, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has meticulously restored an ageing example of the historic car.
The Miura, which should be instantly recognisable to all motoring fans, was lovingly brought back to its former glory by Lamborghini’s PoloStorico division.
This particular version isn’t just any old Miura SV (if there is such a thing), this is the exact vehicle displayed at the Geneva motor show in 1971 on the Bertone stand.
With the Miura taking a back seat at the show, the Lamborghini Countach, another iconic car emblazoned with the raging bull badge, had the honour of the main stage.
Taking around 12 months to complete, the restorers used archived documents and photos to reference every detail of the car, in an effort to create an impeccable final product. As such, the engine and chassis received an entire strip-down and rebuild using genuine Lamborghini parts
Every panel that wraps the Miura’s chassis had its lines and curves fixed in order to honour the car’s beautiful and timeless aesthetic, before being finished off in Lambo’s original metallic green, or Verde Metallizata. The seats and dash are also married with in era-appropriate tan leather.
The car will be on show at this year’s Amelia Island Concours d’elegance in Florida, USA
