Beijing 2014: Suzuki Alivio concept revealed

Suzuki has unveiled its new Alivio sedan concept at the Beijing Motor Show 2014.

The new Suzuki Alivio concept is a closer peek at what a future production model will be. The concept was earlier showcased as the Ciaz at the Indian Auto Expo earlier this year.

For now though, details are scarce but Suzuki has confirmed that the Alivio concept is powered by a 1.5-litre DOHC four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.  The Japanese carmaker also said that the Alivio is 4,545mm long, 1,730mm wide and 1,475mm tall.

The concept car wears a wide chrome grille and those large multi-element wrap-around headlamps look in sync with Suzuki's modern design language. Overall, the concept looks very sporty but its low roof, however, may not make it to production.

According to Suzuki, the Alivio concept’s design has been created using a “Sporty and Noble” theme with the use of smooth curved surface and sharp character lines.

A production version of this concept (Codename: YL1) will hit our shores soon and will replace the current SX4 sedan.
