Overview:  July 11, 2013: German luxury auto giant Mercedes-Benz has today launched the efficient B-Class diesel in India at a price of Rs 22.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) . The company was already selling the petrol model of the car in India. The all new B-Class diesel was launched by Mr. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Bollywood celebrities Abhay Deol and Aditi Rao. B-Class diesel derives its power from a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 109bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. The similar engine does its duty to the newly launched A-Class diesel. The all new B-Class was the first vehicle to have been developed on the company's newly developed front-wheel drive MFA platform, on which A-Class too was developed later. The B-Class diesel has a 50 liter tank capacity and an impressive mileage of 18.98Kmpl which provides the perfect touring capabilities to this fascinating vehicle.

Mercedes Benz has launched the diesel engine-equipped version of the B-class.

After being available in petrol guise here since last year, the B-class now comes with a 2.2-litre 107bhp diesel motor and is called B180 CDI.
This engine is mated to a seven-speed DCT gearbox with two drive options, Sport and Manual. The B-class diesel is shod with smaller 16-inch wheels as compared to the 17-inch ones which come with the petrol variant.

The B180 CDI is available in only one trim level called Style. Standard equipment includes a fully powered driver’s seat, leather upholstery, seven airbags, a COMAND interface with a variety of media connectivity options and a whole lot of safety tech. The B180 CDI, however, comes without the dual-sunroof which is standard equipment on the B180 petrol.
